Task Forces
Collaborative spaces where NAbSA partners come together to share insights, solve challenges, and strengthen the impact of Nature-based Solutions for climate adaptation. Each Task Force focuses on a key theme, turning collective experience into action
Task Force 1:
Across the world, people are facing the same challenges: soil is being lost, forests are shrinking, and changing climates are putting more pressure on the land we depend on. But solutions are emerging—many of them led by the communities most affected. The Land and Natural Resource Management Task Force brings together project managers and local leaders from the Partnering for Climate (P4C) portfolio to share those solutions, scale them up, and make nature part of the plan.
Task Force 2:
Farmers everywhere are adapting—sometimes quietly, sometimes urgently—to a changing climate. But behind every harvest is a deeper story about livelihoods, land, and local ecosystems. The Agriculture and Livelihoods Task Force is a community of project managers, practitioners, and changemakers from across the Partnering for Climate (P4C) network, working together to ensure Nature-based Solutions (NbS) become part of how we grow food, sustain rural economies, and protect our future.
Task Force 3:
From the tidal wetlands of West Africa to the reef-lined shores of the Indian Ocean, coastal and marine ecosystems are a lifeline—for people, for biodiversity, and for climate resilience. But with sea levels rising, habitats shrinking, and coastal communities under increasing threat, it’s clear: we need bold, creative, and collaborative action. That’s where the Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Task Force comes in.
Task Force 4:
How do great ideas spread? How do powerful, local solutions move from a pilot plot to a national plan? And how do we ensure the work communities are doing to restore lands, adapt to climate change, and protect nature doesn’t stay in the shadows? The Task Force on Scale-Out Development and Communication exists to answer these questions.
Task Force 5:
The Policy and Governance Task Force brings together policy advisors, legal experts, implementers, and advocates to ensure that Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are recognized, supported, and sustained through national, regional, and global governance systems. Our work is about shaping enabling environments — where good NbS practice is backed by good policy.
